bicycle type: cruiser
frame size: medium / small
wheel size: 26 in
bicycle frame material: alloy
I've had this frame and parts around for a while and had been planning it as this all-out hipster touring build.
The bike is "slapped together" and can be ridden as-is, BUT it is absolutely a PROJECT bike.
It is in no condition to be ridden further than your neighborhood until it is gone through and tweaked and tuned properly.
All the parts are there, and the important ones in great condition.
Shimano Nexus 8 speed internal hub and shifter.
Shimano dynamo front hub. Generator hub for lights or maybe even phone charging.
The dynamo hub is missing the connector, which is available for under $10 online.
Patina'd / relic'd aluminum rack looks sweet.
Fenders on it are mostly for image.....they really don't fit it well. They could be tweaked and used, but a metal set of the proper size would be sweeter.
I slapped a rear brake on it just so it could be ridden safely for a test drive. Matching front brake handle and hardware included.
I am not sure if that seat is the original or not, but it is an actual Schwinn seat and era appropriate I'd imagine by the looks of it. It's a gel foam and actually in decent useable condition and feels great. Would probably be best to sew a little shower cap for it to protect it from the sun as it is already faded but not really cracked.
No front derailleur. I wrapped the chain around the big chainring to make the bike rideable and I assume whoever builds this properly will want to either choose a better single chainring on the existing crank or put a different 1x crank altogether. If I had a 1x crank, I would have put that on instead. Aside from being a bit dinged up, the Sugino on it is an appropriate crank for it with the right single chainring for the 8 speed hub.
I had visions of building this bike all hipster-turismo for myself, or to flip for more $$, but I have accumulated too many projects and have decided to pass this one on to someone who will make it their own. It has a ton of potential. Chrome touring or cruiser bars would pop this ride! Wish I had a pair to throw on it but don't.
The head badge is in awesome shape and looks cool.
Frame is 17". Stand-over height is 28 - 3/4' on 26x1.5 tires. And ....pink grips. Great for the ladies. Get your wife or girlfriend stoked to tour with you on this one.

$200
