EDEN HASHISH CENTRE POSTER 1975 CALENDER –The legendary Eden Hashish Centre in Kathmandhu was in business from 1962 to 1973, when due to US pressure on Nepal all hashish shops had to close down. The Eden Hashish Centre was the largest of several legal storefronts in Kathmandu that provided quality hash and grass to tourists. Mr. Sharma, the owner, opened two shops. The original location was at 5/1 Basantpur in the famous "Freak Street" hippy district. The two Eden Hashish Centres, the Central Hashish Centre, and the others closed their doors and the pot and hashish business moved underground. The memory of the Eden Hashish Center lives on in the advertising posters Mr. Sharma distributed. Extraordinary prints of Hindu gods and other subjects were embossed with the Eden name and addresses to make a unique picture that was often taken home and prized by their Hippie customers.
This original calendar was printed in 1973, ahead of its 1975 distribution date. A head shop in Washington, D.C. was giving these to some of its customers in 1974. Rare and in very good condition with all (3) of its month pages attached. 14”x25”. Includes frame.
