Here is the listing on Ebay with a ton of pictures:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/136390119227
I would rather sell it to someone local and save both of us the ebay fees, shipping and taxes. I have a few dozen people interested on ebay but would rather deal locally if possible.
Cash only.
This was displayed in my Father's Office. He was a lifer in the Air Force. He was working in Saudi Arabia in 1991 during the Gulf War. I do NOT have the original packaging only what is shown in the pictures (less the letter). The letter describing the knife was found on the internet and it is not in my possession. The knife fits VERY tightly in the sheath so I think that is what caused the scrapes that appear on the blade edge in the pictures. I looked inside the sheath and there is a spring loaded metal "tang" that holds the knife in place inside the sheath. I tried to get a picture of the tang midway down the sheath (see last pics). Please see all the pictures for actual condition. I took a couple pictures today on towels to show the knife as I know it. My friends "professional pictures" he took for me are lovely but a little harsh with the lighting.
To be honest I don't know if my Dad bought the knife or it was presented to him by his employer.
The knife is beautiful and I have never seen another one.
The letter describing the knife was found on the internet and I am not in possession of the letter.
The only one of these I found was in an ad describing this knife that sold for $1400.
From the letter found on the internet:
This is a rare Phrobis III M9A1 bayonet made in Spain by Marto. The blade has "Operation Desert Storm 1991" on blade. It is US Patent No. 4,821,356. This is the last knife made by Phrobis International and was commissioned by a firm in Saudi Arabia to be sold in that country. It appears it is one of the rarest Phrobis models out there. This listing is for knife and sheath only.
Please see all of the pictures in my auction for all the information on the knife.
I'm getting tired of all the stupid questions on Ebay. I have reduced the price locally to $1200. Reduced again to $1100.
