Hello. I've decided to sell my 1993 GMC Sierra 1500 V6. I bought this truck 2 years ago from an elderly family member just to have and ride around in and feel like I was living in the 90's again, but it's time to make room in my driveway. This truck has been very reliable despite its age and miles. This summer I took it on two 300+ mile camping trips with no major issues. It does show its age but this is a vehicle you don't have to worry about getting a door ding in a parking lot. It passes emissions and has a clean title. 225,000 miles. This truck would make an excellent landscaping, trash hauling, ranch truck, or high school kids truck.
+ It is 4x4 and it works well, used it to get out of a tight spot just this month.
+ 5 speed manual transmission, clutch feels good to me
+ When I bought it I changed the oil, new spark plugs, new clutch slave cylinder, and put 4 brand new Firestone tires on it (1600 miles on them $900+)
+ Has locking camper shell and a 5th wheel tail gate (I don't know why that's just how I bought it)
+ Bed liner
+ Has heater that works great but A/C needs a recharge
Issues:
- Battery has been set up in a strange way with a C clamp on the negative terminal. I believe this is why the battery will mysteriously be dead sometimes but it will charge and start fine for weeks
- Numerous dents and dinks, worn bench seat, and a rattle can paint job on the door and grill
- Check engine light will come on after about 30 miles on the highway, then be gone the next time you start it
- Issue with a gas leak near fuel cap I believe to be a venting issue. I just leave the cap slightly loose
- has oil leak from somewhere
