Part-time Elementary and Middle School Learning Specialist
Santa Fe School for the Arts & Sciences, an expeditionary learning school, is seeking an experienced and dedicated learning specialist to support our preschool-8th grade students, families, and teachers for the 2026-27 school year.
The successful candidate will understand the developmental needs of children (ages 3-14), using their knowledge to promote the school's character traits of compassion, courage, respect, trust, honesty and stewardship. Experience with this age group and the ability to work directly within the classroom are essential to this role.
Our learning specialist works across many age groups and classrooms, partnering closely with teachers, families, and students to provide instruction and intervention grounded in educational best practices. They lead the process of identifying appropriate actions and creating accommodation plans that support the whole team, student, teacher and family alike. For some students, this includes referring for diagnostic evaluations, helping parents and faculty interpret results, connecting families with specialized services, and coordinating with outside instructors or tutors. The role also involves close collaboration with administration and faculty to ensure curricular offerings are differentiated to meet every student's needs, whether through training and workshops, team teaching, or small-group support within the classroom.
Social-emotional development is at the core of teaching and learning at Arts & Sciences, which is why the ideal candidate brings genuine experience working within a school community, not just a clinical setting
