Fi30 High Performance Bluetooth Wood Speaker System
$149.99 New
Fluance was founded in 1999 by Deepak Jain in Niagara Falls, Canada, driven by his lifelong passion for music and the desire to recreate a live concert experience at home through high-quality, affordable audio equipment.
The company's story is built on making hi-fi sound accessible, with an initial focus on speakers like the AV and SX series that gained popularity for their performance and value. The name "Fluance" combines the Latin word for "flowing" or "wave" (flu) with the suffix "ance" (state of being), symbolizing the company's goal of creating a seamless audio experience.
The front panel of the 5.5-by-16.5-by-5.5-inch (HWD), 8.3-pound system houses two 3-inch drivers, spaced far enough apart for decent stereo separation when you're near enough.
The most notable aspect of the Fi30's design is its lack of, well, anything other than the speaker grilles and the Fluance logo.
Visually, this uninterrupted surface will appeal to those who hate busy-looking systems with unnecessarily crowded control panels. But the obvious downside of this lack of adornment is also a lack of functionality—if you want to play, pause, or navigate tracks, or even just adjust the volume, all of this must be done on your connected device.
That may not sound too bad, but it creates a situation in which the speaker cannot be turned up or down rapidly unless the device you're streaming from is in your hands.
The Fi30's only controls and connection points sit on the back panel. The power switch is located here, along with a Pairing button for Bluetooth devices.
There's also a 3.5mm aux input (a cable is included), which automatically shuts off Bluetooth when a cable is connected.
This could lead to some occasional, unintended interruptions of music, but it's better than having two sources play at once. There's also a USB port for charging devices—a nice way to make sure your device's battery doesn't run out while you stream music from it.

Fluance Fi30 Review
The Fluance Fi30 is a barebones speaker, but it doesn't cut any corners regarding its sound or design, so it's a great bang for the buck.
While most people want the same thing out of Bluetooth speakers — namely portability — not everyone needs the same features. For some, portability isn’t a major factor: they just want to listen to music from a mobile device without fumbling around with wires.
Enter the Fluance Fi30. This has been on the market for a while, and is popular among those who prefer sound quality and value for their money over portability.
The question is, putting portability aside, is this worth the $150 asking price?
