I set this bike up for the 300 mile days yet I am a busted up veteran and it is getting to heavy for me to ride on single track trails when by my self. This bike has a 250.00 Seat concepts extra wide thick seat. The best ever for long rides. No more numbness. Riders know what I mean. Brand new Tusk 2 Tract rear tire that will last 8000 miles. Givi tall windscreen and quick release side bags. SW Motech crash bars and lower bash plate. Lowered foot pegs for more room for boots. 16 tooth front sprocket for 75 mph all day adventures. Doohicky and thermo-bob mods complete when bike was new. Rotella T-6 oils every 2000 miles. Highway pegs. Phone mount and charger port. Bark Buster hand guards which are great in winter. The bike has been lowered two inches. This is one of the last carbureted bikes which has been jetted for power and to fit the muffler. Handle bar risers for better comfort. The bikes has like 7400 miles on it. I have been as far as 300 miles in a day and still able to stand and walk when I got home. Front fender has been trimmed three inches for when over 75 mph the downward tip would wave back and forth. Does not do that anymore. The bike has like 250 to 300 mile range depending on how you ride. Better foot pegs non slip. Nice luggage rack. Really a good machine for adventures and long rides as well as back roads and mountain two tract exploring. There are many KLR's out there for sale for one of the best longest lasting bikes ever made. You can get cheaper than spend a couple thousand on upgrades to equal this bike. My last two KLR's were both over 70k miles with zero issues ever. I prefer the carbed bike for no fuel pumps or sensors or ecms issues ever to leave you walking.
I would like a very small and light weight overland camp trailer. We could also use a super reliable little car like Scion xd, xb, im or Toyota yaris or echo, Maybe the rare Matrix or Corolla wagon hatchback, Honda fit, You get the idea. I would consider a Subaru if 5 speed and the timing belt and head gaskets have been done only. I would also look at Jeep XJ's that have had very good maintenance.
I would also look at a trailer with sides for yard clean up or landscape type trailer. Top needs to be open so I can pitch stuff in it.
Wife would like a Mazda Miata or maybe a small dual sport or nice atv.
