This dresser is very unique, hand crafted by The Johnson Furniture Company, designed by Renzo Rutili. This chest features thick solid mahogany box and frame, dovetail joinery, its original black micarta top and plinth, with book matched wood parquetry on drawer fronts, which is extremely difficult to complete properly and takes a high level of skill and experience to achieve. Its original Keeler Brass Co sculpted brass drawer pulls are all present, each drawer was hand-fitted from its creation circa 1950s. Extremely heavy! The back is stamped “J” (along with many other details) that confirms its provenance. This is investment level, elite tier furniture! These go for many thousands online and are hard to come by! This chest is not in perfect condition which is why it is priced accordingly. Could fit in an MCM styled space.
This is a highly sought after and highly collectible fine piece of furniture. Very hard to come by and an incredible example of elite level mid-century craftsmanship.
This chest is in overall good vintage condition and is fully functional, with wear and tear present. Please review photos. It has been carefully refinished.
