Grandfather clock with both the case and movement made in Germany in the April 1978. The height is about 79 inches, the width 19 3/4 inches, and the depth 11 1/2 inches. The wooden case seems to be mahogany-like and has original painted flowers on the front and top of it. The painted flowers make the clock unusual and liven it up quite nicely. The movement/dial can be removed from the clock as the unit hangs on the inside backside portion of the case. The case can be taken apart in three sections.

The movement is an 8-day (wind once per week), triple chime, weight-driven on chains. The pendulum is wooden with a brass bob. There are three brass-shelled weights - one driving the time, one the chime and one the strike.

There are three chime tunes ((St. Michael's, Whittington, and Westminster) or silent that can be selected. The Westminster chime will start with 4 notes on the quarter, then 8 on the 2nd quarter, then 12 on the 3rd quarter and 16 on the hour. The other two tunes have twice any many notes each quarter.

The movement has just been overhauled: disassembled, cleaned, new bushings where needed, assembled, adjusted and freshly lubricated (August 2023). The clock is fully functional and keeps time well.

$600. Cash only. Transportation and setup of clock is negotiable. Posting will be promptly removed once clock is no longer available. Contact me via email or phone/text (nine 03 zero three fiftysix) for more information. Thanks for looking!
