Vintage but we do not know what year it was acquired- timeless! And in excellent condition, obsidian stone beads strung and knotted by hand with black thread and an elegant golden “fish hook” clasp, though at 30 inches from tip to tip you aren’t likely to use the clasp unless you want to. The snowflake obsidian is cool to the touch and the necklace is well made, has a nice weight to it.

Snowflake obsidian is a variety of volcanic glass that is made when lava cools very quickly but with enough time for Cristobalite crystals to form inside. It’s one of my favorite rocks to collect because there are so many kinds that can be found in the USA.

(To be clear-I doubt this necklace is made from American obsidian, though this variety can be found in Utah, California, Oregon and Nevada.)

Delivery might be possible for an added few bucks depending on the location/distance.
