DUTIES
Performs a wide variety of general building maintenance, repairs, and services. Monitors and maintains all assigned building systems.
Assists in monitoring and coordinating work performed by outside contractors.
Maintains inspection and preventive maintenance schedules for assigned areas of the business, including commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, sheeters, glazing equipment, tilt skillets, ovens, and similar machinery.
Installs light bulbs, doors, cabinets, paneling, and Formica.
Paints interior and exterior walls and cabinets; assembles furniture as needed.
Repairs and relocates light fixtures.
Replaces washers, faucets, and seals on malfunctioning plumbing equipment; repairs leaking fixtures; cleans clogged drains.
Completes grounds work as directed, including power washing concrete and dumpster areas, maintaining landscaping beds, and performing sprinkler and drip-line repairs.
Maintains proper functioning of water filtration systems, including RO systems and water softeners.
Responds to 24-hour emergency maintenance requests as scheduled; carries a cell phone as required for on-call responsibilities.
Alerts the Facilities Supervisor and/or Brand Director of any unusual occurrences or damage that has taken place or may occur.
Maintains a professional and courteous manner when communicating with managers, employees, vendors, contractors, and co-workers.
Maintains all vehicles, equipment, and tools in safe and clean working order; follows all safe work procedures at all times.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Fieldwork requires frequent walking in operational areas to identify problems or hazards.
Ability to sit, stand, or squat for extended periods of time.
Must possess mobility to work in and around a variety of company buildings and facilities.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle and drive on surface streets.
Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, including working in confined spaces, around machinery, and operating hand and power tools.
Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and climbing to perform work and inspect work sites; must be able to climb and descend ladders.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 75 pounds, and heavier items with the use of proper equipment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Basic principles and techniques of wood finishing, painting, electricity, and carpentry.
Operational characteristics of mechanical equipment and tools related to assigned work.
Tools, equipment, and supplies used in building and equipment maintenance.
Occupational hazards and standard safety practices relevant to assigned duties.
Ability to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
Basic repair skills for plumbing, machinery, and electrical circuitry.
Ability to safely operate a pallet jack.
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to use digital applications on a mobile device to log work, view work orders, and enter timecards.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Required schedule: Friday through Sunday; 25 to 30 hours per week.
Must use personal vehicle and tools. Company reimburses mileage.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
5 + years in a general building and equipment maintenance capacity.
Familiarity with restaurant and/or commercial kitchen equipment a plus.
