We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Trailer Mechanics to join our maintenance team. Mechanics are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trailers and heavy equipment systems to ensure safety, reliability, and optimal performance. This role requires a strong mechanical background, experience with heavy machinery, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Trailer Mechanic will play a critical role in supporting our operations through expert repairs and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair trailer systems including brakes, suspensions, axles, hydraulics, and electrical components using schematics and diagnostic tools
Perform routine maintenance such as , wheel alignments, fluid checks,
Repair and replace air brake systems, shocks,springs, air springs, liftgate and other heavy equipment components
Fabricate parts or modify trailers as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
Operate heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely during repair procedures
Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before they result in breakdowns or safety hazards
Maintain detailed service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Assist with assembly of equipment , perform upgrades as required
Support other maintenance activities including welding, soldering, and general equipment repair
Experience
Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or heavy equipment technician with dealership experience preferred
Strong knowledge of heavy duty repair including , brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, abs systems, body repair, welding , and fabrication are all a plus
Experience working with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems
Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metalworking
Familiarity with heavy machinery operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, semi trucks
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance best practices for tractor-trailers and industrial equipment
Prior service technician experience with customer service skills is a plus but not required we are willing to train the right candidates
