Food Production Technicians are responsible for processing a wide selection of food items. Having experience as a cook or prep-cook is a big plus. Being a food process worker, you will work with a team and learn to prepare food products, use dispensing equipment to bottle and cap, bag, seal and/or case always checking for quality, consistency, and cleanliness. We prefer someone with food preparation experience, a cook or kitchen staff.
Food Production team hours Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. daily. Paid holidays, rare weekend work.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Follow recipe and identify ingredients.
• Feed required ingredients into dispensing machines.
• Perform quality checks of products for defect (Example: torn or open bags, dented cans, expired dates)
• Record required information on proper forms.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and production area.
• Cross training various positions on the production line.
• Follow production guidelines regarding food safety.
• Obtain a food handler certification
• Works together as a team, cooperating with other employees.
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or the equivalent
Skills and Knowledge
• Experience in the food industry, cook or pre-cook, the aptitude to remain attentive while conducting tasks
• Correctness and attention to detail
• Good powers of surveillance to spot problems with materials, processes, and equipment.
• Aptitude to act rapidly when there is a difficulty
• Good team working skills and the aptitude to work alone.
• The capability to follow instructions and procedures
• Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds required
