Long story short: I called the folks at Aerostich just before they shut down when COVID-19 hit. Gave them my measurements and was assured by them that I should fit into a 38 Short.
I found a 38S suit on eBay and bought it. Tried it on when it arrived... and it doesn't fit. Turns out I'm NOT a 38S and the eBay seller won't take returns. My goof could be your lucky day.
Jacket is high viz yellow, pants are black. The pants are made to be worn zipped to the jacket. Aerostich sells a zip-on bib on their website that allows you to wear the pants separately (i.e., not zipped to the jacket).
Zippers all in working shape. No abrasions or obvious damage anywhere. The suit does need to be washed. Aerostich recommends using Nik-Wash (or similar Gore-Tex friendly laundry soap) in a commercial washer, and then using Nik-Wax waterproofer during the rinse cycle. The suit is Gore-Tex, and made in the USA.
Tag inside jacket says 38S, tag inside pants says 36. I am unable to find a manufacturing date anywhere inside the suit.
