Up for sale is a stunning 1953 Gretsch PX-6128 Duo Jet, serial #11918, complete with its original tweed hard shell case. This is one of the very first Duo Jets ever built, part of the initial production batch—making it extremely rare and highly collectible.
Known to collectors as a “Scripty Jet” because of the pearl script Gretsch logo on the headstock, this early ’53 model features distinctive details not found on later ’54 models, giving it a truly unique vintage character.
The guitar has a beautiful black Nitron top with natural back and sides, a mahogany body and neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The finish gleams, showing off its classic early-’50s aesthetic. Original hardware and electronics are intact, and the neck is comfortable with excellent playability.
