This is one of Deering’s higher-end banjos, built with serious attention to detail and top-shelf materials. Features include a 20-hole bell bronze tone ring, ebony fingerboard, beautiful mother-of-pearl inlays, and a quarter-sawn English walnut neck paired with a 3-ply violin-grade maple pot with ebony cap and brass notched tension hoop.
Condition is very good to near mint for its age, with only light tarnish on the metal and mild head wear from normal, careful playing. Neck is straight, action is comfortable, and it sounds clear, balanced, and true.
Includes the original Deering/Vega hard case, also in excellent shape.
