Selling my Yamaha b100iii bass amplifier. This head was carefully removed from a lightly-used b100-115iii combo from the mid 80s. The head sits in a brand new case made by a friend of mine using solid wood, locking corners, and a top strap/handle. All pots, inputs/outputs, switches and lifts function perfectly. The unit puts out what might be the most perceivably loud, underrated 120 watts (@ 8ohm) of solid-state power (AB type) that I have ever experienced as it easily eclipses a number of the swr, peavy, and trace heads that I have used over the years with twice as much (or more) continous power ratings. The head has some of the most comprehensive tone-shaping I have ever seen, boasting 2 individual parametric eqs with frequency/q/level controlls for each (foot switchable at that). The rear end has a wonderful attenuated xlr output that operates post-eq.
Despite this being a very special amplifier, I am selling it finally as I have the rack-mounted preamp version of this unit that I pair with a small, 1-u power amp - and this head now feels redundant.
If you happened to be interested in the original 15" yamaha speaker (120w @ 8ohm) - I still happen to have it and it is in perfect condition.
Please message me if you have any questions. My ask for this outstanding bass head is $300 firm.
