For your consideration is a unique, professional 4-way hi fidelity stereo set up that would be perfect for a recording studio playback system in a tracking room.
This is a 4-way speaker system using vintage JBL and Altec alnico components, housed in nicely restored Altec Barcelona wood cabinets from the 1960s.
The drivers consist of: Altec 411-8 woofers, JBL 2123 low midrange, JBL 2470 upper midrange, and JBL 2405 hi frequency drivers. Do some research and you will find that these are fantastic, high end, high fidelity professional devices.
It’s controlled and driven with a 4-way active network consisting of dbx PA2 and dbx 2223xi crossovers, 2 Crown D45 amps, and Yamaha P2050 and Yamaha P2100 power amps. The schematic shows these components and wiring.
This is a complete working pro system that sounds great. One can tune it to sound any way you want: detailed and accurate, bold and aggressive, or anything in between by using the crossover and power amp controls.
Why is this system listed Musical Instruments? Because it would be outstanding in a recording studio tracking room. Excellent for mix playback, but even better for playing back individual tracks like guitar, bass or drums into your room and then mixing your room for a re-amp or room sound.
These are professional drivers and components that are capable of producing low distortion sound at high volume, all day, every day. They can be voice to suit your room and the instrument(s) that you want to reproduce. This is a totally pro system ready to work. Of course, they are capable of very high fidelity, depending on how you decide to set them up.
This price is LESS than the market value of the raw drivers alone. They are professionally installed in beautiful, roll around cabinets that are easy to move and the sound great.
Pictures and details available upon an email request. Inspections and auditions are available and encouraged for serious buyers.
This is a cash only deal. Buyer must pick up. All sales are final.
(CD player and the Tube Trap acoustic treatments in the photo are NOT INCLUDED)
Very vintage, very cool and professional. This complete, ready to rock system can be yours for less than the price of the raw drivers. (The amps and crossovers would be essentially free!)
This system belonged to a good friend of mine who recently passed away after a long illness. He was an audio engineer who spent his career designing and building high-end, touring sound systems for major musical acts. Here’s a chance to pick up a great system for below wholesale value.
