I have taught hundreds of students how to play the guitar. Some of my students have gone on to pursue a music degree, some have gone on to lead worship at their church, and many that will enjoy playing guitar as a lifelong hobby.
I currently have a few openings in my schedule. All ages are welcome and any experience level is fine, from beginning to advanced, on either acoustic or electric.
I have a couple of performance videos on line at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKmSjAI_tfs and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfRFDu4kdek as well as more audio of my playing at www.MyTomorrowAtDawn.com, note that both of these projects spotlight my acoustic playing of original songs, but I am equally proficient on the electric guitar, from blues to metal to worship music.
Here are a couple of reviews from current students:
Jason is an amazing teacher that works very well with my 12 year old son. He takes his time, is patient and engages with him. Nick loves working with Jason as well and always leaves with a smile on his face.
Throughout my time taking lessons from Jason, I've learned not only how to play guitar in the sense of reading sheet music and tablature, but have also learned about the deeper aspects of guitar like how to choose a guitar that's best for you and how to properly care for that guitar. Subjects like music writing, improvising, scales, and even singing exercises are taught with ease and in a way that makes understanding them even easier. Overall, working with South Metro Guitar has proved to be a great experience and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is serious about taking their guitar skills to the next level.
