IMPORTANT: A hail damage claim was begun three weeks ago with minor hail damage to the curved portions of the roof (not the rubber roof). I have had to take our motorhome from the original repair shop to the Newmar dealer in town because the original repair shop failed to provide me with a quote after two weeks of sitting on their lot. I will keep this updated.
My wife and I bought this Newmar Baystar 2901 while living in Knoxville, TN in October 2016. It had 14k miles on it at the time. After traveling around the country (and living in it for 18 months!), it's now time to sell to the next fortunate owner.
A pre-owned Newmar Baystar with low mileage is hard to find, because it is so much in demand. Newmar is the company that innovated the slide out. Newmar is the brand you want to purchase for its reputation of high-quality build, excellent customer service, and worry-free comfort on the road. Since this is a 2011 Baystar you will not be worrying about a bunch of electronics and flat screen panels that could break--just straight-forward RV'ing with little to be concerned about.
This Newmar Baystar 2901 is approx 30' in length, has two slideouts, high-quality name-brand components, Steinbring chassis, and the Ford 6.8L V10 (not diesel). It averages around 8-11 mpg. The V10 has proven to be an excellent engine, pulling our tow vehicle with ease. Just ask around about the Ford V10. Fuel tank has 80 gallon capacity, making long hauls no problem. We tried to keep destinations under four hours each when we were traveling, but you can travel much longer in this RV.
New Goodyear and Toyo tires all the way around! Toyo tires have 66-month warranty. This includes new rear tire valve extenders making it easy for you to check tire pressure and inflate if needed. If you would like, I can transfer the tire and road hazard warranty to you for $25.00. It has a three year term and began on 3/31/17.
Onan 4000 generator, Blue Ox tow package (on tow vehicle--tow bar on RV not included if tow vehicle not purchased by new owner), Norcold refrigerator, Direct TV Winegard satellite, Atwood gas range, Dometic microwave, Atwood Level-legs auto leveling, 20 gallon propane tank, Dometic A/C, new tires, new front brakes, two Sony HDTV's with Sony DVD players, excellent in-ceiling sound system, etc. Purchased two new house batteries and engine battery around March 2017 (all batteries Interstate brand). Replaced almost all florescent interior lights with low-heat, energy efficient LED lighting. Front end alignment in March of 2018.
We have "babied" this motorhome and have used only high-quality components, service providers, and parts in its repair and maintenance.
I have all maintenance and repair documentation (even the initial inspection report by the warranty company). Transmission fluid flushed/replaced around 25k miles. I have an incredible warranty that is transferable, but we have not had to use the warranty that often! When we have, they have provided excellent customer service in their claims processing.
So, even with its low miles, you have the option to transfer my Wholesale Warranty / Viking Protection Plan that is good for another 5,000 miles (as of 6/11/19). So, for $50.00 you will have $1,000.00 worth of warranty. This and transferring the tire/road hazard warranty coverage gives you some added peace of mind.
The interior is in very good condition. With enough space in the living area, bathroom, and master to easily accommodate 4-5 adults. It's a stylish, straightforward layout that has not changed much from 2011 to 2017. If you want a fireplace and washer/dryer in your RV, there are other options at $200k plus. But if you want divorce-proof roominess and all of the major amenities of home in a low-mileage motorcoach, this is an excellent option.
This RV is "move in ready." You pay me. I hand you a clean title and then you get on the road (and hopefully have as much fun as we had). We visited about 40 of the states. AND before you leave, I have no problem with helping you get adjusted to all of the normal things to learn on this motorhome (should you be newbies to RV'ing or just new to Newmar).
We have moved to New Mexico to be near family. Email me to set up a time to take a look.
P.S. - The tow vehicle (equipped with Blue Ox tow package) may also be for sale. It is a 2014 Honda CR-V EX-L with navigation. I have all repair and maintenance documentation for it, and this includes new tires, brakes, and major service. This is the last year these SUVs were made for flat towing, as specified in the Honda owner's manual. We can talk about this if you are interested. It has been an excellent car to have on the road. May consider a trade.
