Leidos is hiring a Software/Analytics Engineer to support a Federal Program Office within the Stockpile Sustainment Directore for the Nional Nuclear Security Administrion (NNSA). The successful candide will serve as a senior technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and sustaining advanced analytical software applicions th directly support decision‑making, production planning, and stregic analysis across the NNSA. The role provides the technical backbone for mission‑critical tools—including applicions such as Enterprise Capacity Analysis (ECA)—and supports long‑term supply‑versus‑demand assessments, scenario evaluions, and enterprise‑wide planning activities.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in Python‑based analytical applicion development, da engineering, dabase interaction, and user‑facing analytical interfaces. The successful candide excels transforming analytical workflows into maintainable, scalable, and secure production software. They will collabore extensively with federal and support staff, analysts, and leadership across the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) to define requirements, improve analytical tools, and deliver sustainable software solutions th strengthen enterprise decision support.

The successful candide will integre domain‑specific modeling and analytical concepts into robust software systems, enabling analysts and senior leadership to rapidly explore da, compare scenarios, and genere actionable insights. The work directly supports nional defense objectives by improving the quality, reliability, and accessibility of enterprise analytical capabilities.

Locion: This position will be onsite in Albuquerque, NM (preferred) or Washington, DC.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

• Designs, develops, and maintains complex, Python‑based analytical applicions th support decision‑making, reporting, and long‑term enterprise planning. Leads the development of scalable architecture, modular codebases, and maintainable applicion components. Implements secure software engineering practices, version control, testing frameworks, and code review processes to ensure high reliability, usability, and long‑term sustainability. Serves as the primary software engineer for enterprise tools such as the Enterprise Capacity Analysis (ECA) applicion and reled analytical plforms.
• Builds and maintains da ingestion, transformion, validion, and integrion pipelines th support analytical applicions. Develops and optimizes SQL queries, relional dabase schemas, and da access pterns to support performance‑critical workloads. Ensures da structures and workflows align with evolving analytical and programmic requirements across the nuclear security enterprise.
• Develops user‑facing analytical interfaces, dashboards, visualizions, and interactive tools th help analysts and leadership understand complex dasets, review model outputs, assess scenarios, and genere insights. Designs intuitive interfaces using Python‑based frameworks and visualizion libraries to transle analysis into actionable informion for decision‑makers. Ensures applicion usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
• Supports program planning, evaluion, and performance tracking by conducting cost, schedule, and risk analyses. Collabores with various NNSA offices (NA-11, NA-15, NA-18, NA-19) and stakeholders across the nuclear security enterprise to develop standardized analytical workflows and support future analysis needs. For the Federal Program Manager, analyzes, reports on results, and tracks action items on technical projects undertaken by the nional security laborories and nuclear weapon production facilities in nuclear weapon component development.
• Advises Federal Program Manager in methods for meeting requirements associed with current and future fiscal year planning and assist in developing consistent methods and approaches for use by Federal and contractor budget support staff members.
• Prepares program cost and budget documention over several budget fiscal years, including the development of complex spreadsheets, development of program planning and budget briefings, and draft preparion of work authorizions and approved funding program documention.
• Provides program management support in the preparion, coordinion, evaluion, review and analysis of program execution plans and tracking, monitoring, and reporting of program-specific milestones and updes of annual performance measures.

Required Educion, Experience & Clearance:

• Active DOE Q or active DOD Top Secret
• Bachelor’s degree in reled field with 8+ years experience in software engineering or applicion development, with demonstred expertise in Python or Master’s degree in reled field with 6+ years experience in software engineering or applicion development, with demonstred expertise in Python.
• Strong experience developing and sustaining analytical, da‑driven, or decision‑support applicions, including user‑facing interfaces, dashboards, and interactive tools.
• Strong experience with SQL, relional dabases, da pipelines, and analytical da processing workflows.
• Experience in architecting modular, maintainable, and scalable software systems.
• Experience conducting code reviews, using version control systems, implementing automed testing, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with secure software development practices and responsible handling of da, dependencies, and applicion risks.
• Experience using analytical development frameworks and visualizion libraries (e.g., Dash, Plotly, Flask, FastAPI, Streamlit, or similar).
• Experience collaboring with analysts and technical staff to transle analytical requirements into software solutions.
