The machine has meehanite casting, a 3Hp spindle motor, 10” x 48” table and R-8 spindle. It is a true 3 axis mill (all 3 axes are servo powered. It has a Maxi Torque-Rite pneumatic drawbar for fast tool changes and includes a 6” USA-made Magnum machine vise with 9” jaw opening. Includes automatic lube system, a servo Z axis power feed, ethernet and USB connections. Currently running Centroid CNC over Linux OS. The machine has box ways and weighs about 3100 lb. It is much more robust than a Bridgeport mill. The machine can be used for CNC work, or used manually with all 3 axes shown on the flat screen monitor. The machine needs about a 7 x 7 ft space and fits in a garage when the head rotated.
The mill runs on 3 phase power for the spindle and 110V for the control systems (pendant). I use an external converter to change my house power to three phase. It will run on single phase 220 with decreased spindle horsepower. I do have a replacement VFD for the spindle which, when installed will provide full horsepower on the spindle without the need for an external converter.
The machine has very little time on it and the ways are excellent. I used it mostly to learn G code and to prototype one plastic part.
