I have a 1967 Mercedes station wagon, which is my dream car and I've been wanting to restore it into my daily driver, but it spent a lot of time in Europe and the bottom half is rusted beyond repair. The station wagons started life as four door sedans and were then changed into wagons by the coachbuilder, so if I get a non-rusty 1960s four door sedan, I can graft the station wagon's sheet metal onto it.
A 1967 or 1968 230S with sunroof is preferred. I don't care about the condition of the engine, transmission, or interior (as I also don't want to pay for them), but I want a body that's not rusted through anywhere as I need a solid foundation for the wagon's roof and rear section to attach. I'm not looking for a pristine, restored car, as I cannot afford that. I would, however, be interested in purchasing another fintail station wagon if one is available.
I'm in Arizona but willing to tow the right car here from out of state. Thanks.
